An intimate portrait of old age through the stories of two octogenarian women, the grandmothers of the filmmaker, who are followed in their daily routines and everyday rituals. As the camera captures their gestures and the material nature of their aging bodies, the voice of the filmmaker questions them about their lives, the passing of time, and the proximity of a death that pervades the film. Fire, sea, and earth, as the elements that embrace the fears, desires, memory, and mourning of the protagonists.

BIO - Ione Atenea
Ione Atenea (Pamplona/ Iruñea, 1985) works in photography and film. Her work has been shown in La Ciudadela (Pamplona), Huarte Contemporary Art Center, Cámara Oscura gallery (Madrid), Espacio 55 (Valencia), BFOTO International Emerging Photography Festival (Barbastro), SCAN PhotoBooks (Tarragona), SKALA gallery (Poland) and mARTadero project (Bolivia), among others. She has written and directed the feature films JANUARY (2019), Best European First Film in the 57th Gijón International Film Festival, and HORSES DIE AT DAWN (2022).
